Ex-offender: A person with a criminal record or history. Other terms include
formerly incarcerated, ex-felon, or former offender. This term does not
reflect a person's criminal record status
Why help an x-offender?
People will always make some bad choices and some will be caught. Once
their  sentence has been served they will be back on the street. You would
think all would be normal again, NOT! Most ex offenders had little before
they were locked up and have even less upon release. Now many ex
offenders are turned into homeless people because they didn't get minimum
help when released.

Our place is located in the Conroe, TX area, about 40 miles north of
Houston, TX. We're here because being too close to a big city can cause
more problems. An ex offender gets out with nothing and has to start from
scratch.

We don't ask much from a resident but do stress that they live by our simple
rules, have a desire to make it on their own and become a useful citizen
again. An ex offender will be given every opportunity to succeed, if the rules
aren't followed they will be asked to leave. We want anyone staying here to
feel part of the big picture and not feel like a loser. If you want to see a few
good people succeed then help us make that happen!
There are the "professional homeless" who
make their living on the street and prefer to
be there and then there's people who wound
up on the street by making some bad
decisions. They really want to change their
situation but lack the means to do so.
IMPORTANT FACTS TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE,

PEOPLE NEED:
  • A PLACE TO STAY AND REGROUP
  • A CHANCE TO BE EMPLOYED AND MAKE
    LIFE CHANGING DECISIONS.
  • GUIDANCE FROM PEOPLE WHO HAVE
BEEN THERE AND HAVE LEARNED FROM
MISTAKES AND WILL DO WHAT IT TAKES
    TO HELP.

Limited on site employment is available and/or transportation is
furnished to employment within the growing town of Conroe, TX.

Space is limited to a small number of men, 5 at the moment, to promote
quicker transition. Guidance is provided when needed and not forced
on anyone.

A community of ex offenders helping other ex offenders is promoted
here. Ex offenders possess many varied and useful talents and we plan
on putting them to good use. Society and government wants little to do
with ex offenders and all they need is just a little help. We're trying to fill
the gap. The goal is to make HELPING X OFFENDERS as self sufficient
as possible with less dependency on outside help.
WANT TO HELP OR NEED HELP?
We believe anyone can improve their situation with a strong desire to do so
and a supportive place to do it in!
Need a place to stay or know someone special who does then contact us. We
are not affiliated with any particular church or government organization and
are not pressured by outside groups. People have a right to make up their
own minds about their future and should be encouraged to do so.

As of 8/23/2011 Helping X Offenders was blessed with a donation to cover
the whole septic system installation. A little church in Tyler, TX., sent the
donation and requested to be anonymous because they wanted God to
receive the credit.

The next phase is to raise funds now for water lines and electrical lines to
the ex offender trailer area. Trenching was started for the septic lines in
Sept. 2011 and installation of the electric and water lines will be needed
next. Everything is coming together in God's timing.

Helping is easy and painless. Check it out and help today. Watch how God
continues to bless those who bless others less fortunate.

The first few days are critical after release. Usually
there isn't family or friends to help out and before
you know it more choices were made, sometimes
not the best ones because it isn't easy to live on the
street without food, shelter or a job! Try it sometime
if you disagree.
If you think there are all kinds of government
services out there just waiting to help, think again.
Agencies usually take days or weeks before
providing any assistance. Next, homeless shelters
which are usually full, may ask for money to stay a
night and offer little long term help.
Ex-offenders who really want to change for the good
need just a little basic help, such as shelter, food
and some honest guidance. Without  another
chance
the tax payers will have to pick up the tab again for
something that could have been avoided in the first
place.
